Layering Herbs

When making spell bottles with layered herbs, start with the heaviest and finest and then work your way up. The first ancestor spirit bottle (left) you can see that the herbs are mixed. The second one (right) looks way better!

So, Bottom: finely ground herbs such as salt, fine sugar, cinnamon, dragon’s blood
Middle: medium ground herbs such as basil, dill, thyme, ground sage
Top: course herbs such as lavender, dried rose petals, apple seeds, juniper berries
